Take Action Against Domestic Violence
You can help champion the cause against domestic violence. Give an hour. Give a Saturday. Give your best. Looking For My Sister's
volunteers participate in a wide range of activities and events; they may provide support behind the scenes or directly with victims
and survivors of domestic violence.
- Join the communications, fundraising or other committees
- Co-facilitate counseling groups
- Mentor children who witness domestic violence
- Staff the victim/crisis hot-line
- Assist victims in obtaining personal protection orders (PPOs)
- Spread our message at prevention education programs
- PLUS, we promote from within and consider volunteers for full-time or part-time employment
Becoming A Volunteer
To become a volunteer for Looking For My Sister, you will need to complete our volunteer application and sign a waiver/release form. Once your application has been accepted, you will attend a Volunteer Orientation to understand more about your role in the mission to end domestic violence.

Our mission is to work toward the prevention and cessation of domestic violence through education, outreach and intervention by providing short and long-term solutions to victims and survivors of domestic violence throughout Wayne County, Michigan

Volunteer Orientation
New-volunteer orientation is held on the first Saturday of each month from 10AM until 12 Noon. If you are dedicated to stopping domestic violence, please join our fight! We are currently looking for energetic women and men to help carry out our mission.
