Prevention

Resources for educators and community leaders Our prevention specialists will be included on discussion panels or do presentations for large and small groups interested in reducing domestic violence and violence. They will also be our resource connection to research, problem assessment and referral programs, treatment programs, significant community and cultural issues affecting prevention, and organizations dedicated to ending violence against women.

LFMS is available to speak to your group on domestic/dating violence topics. Education programs are also available for High School students and children age 3 to 7.

 

Looking For My Sister will provide extensive and continuing community education as a key component in achieving our goal of eliminating domestic violence in our communities. For persons wishing to know more about the issue of domestic violence the agency offers several training workshops each year.  Our programs inform the public about the dynamics of domestic violence and the toll it exacts on families and on society. Staff and volunteers appear before corporate audiences, civic organizations, church congregations and other public forums in an ongoing effort to increase awareness about the issue of domestic violence. Professional workshops are available on a wide range of topics including but not limited to: Domestic Violence-indicators, dynamics, Work place violence and dating violence.
