Assertiveness Group

Assertiveness Training teaches women to exercise their rights without denying the rights of others. Special emphasis is given to safety issues for women currently living with abusive partners.

Children’s Support Groups

The children’s support group will meet on a weekly basis (synchronizing with Survivor/Victim support groups).  It allows children to come and develop skills so they can better cope with their experiences.  Through exercises and structured play children will learn appropriate ways to express their anger and deal with fears.

Coping Skills Group

Coping Skills Group examines the interrelation of domestic violence and substance abuse. Group discussions center on issues of safety, coping without substances, and cycles of violence and addiction.

Morning Meeting Group (provided in and for the transitional facility only)

Morning Meeting focuses on daily plans and achievements - such as acquiring housing or legal assistance. Long-term goals become more realistic when the significance of each day's successes is recognized.

Single Mother’s Group

This group will be working diligently to instill values in the women who come through our program whom are already single or facing becoming single parents as a result of them leaving their abusers. This, in turn helps support our goal of promoting the well being, fairness and resources for women by choice or chance, reducing stereotypes.  It will focus on successfully meeting the challenges of daily life with wisdom, dignity, confidence and courage.
